Vigil spirits

Vigil Spirits are artificial intelligences - wardens that oversee the enforcement of the Tether. In certain cases, the role of Vigil Spirit is carried out by the very spirits who committed the wrongdoing that resulted in the Tether. Observing their descendants endure the hardship caused by their own actions becomes a profound suffering for the guilty ancestors. Through witnessing this suffering, compassion, loving kindness and empathy gradually arise within those spirits, leading to genuine realization.
