Principle of the Decimal system

The “Principle of the Decimal system” refers to a numerical organizational structure in which the smallest unit, the Decad (a unit of ten), forms Centurias (units of one hundred), Chiliads (unit of one thousand), Myriads (unit of ten thousand), and further higher groupings. In this system, the structure expands progressively in multiples of ten, forming increasingly larger organizational units.
